Born in Michigan and turned my first pieces on a school lathe in the late 60s. Didn't get back to woodworking again until I built my first home in the mid 70s. Worked in the oil field, drove truck for RC cola, then got into telephone electronics. Started woodworking again as a hobby making clocks and a little furniture. Moved to Australia in 1983 doing the telephone exchanges. Reestablished woodworking again, this time with a broader range to supply local galleries and do a few exhibitions. Opened our own Gallery & cafe in Maleny Qld. with my wife Maree. Expanded to include a B&B. We sold it all to retire and travel mid 2016 after 22 years. Now we both do our craft and travel [Maree makes hats]. I will still do some bespoke furniture for clients. Have had write-ups and features in the Australian woodworker, The Australian Wood Review, Bespoke Furniture of 101 International Artists. Have done over 100 exhibitions here in Queensland and New South Wales. I teach from time to time to share the bug of woodworking. I love to embellish and enhance the natural features in timbers by mixing mediums such as gilding and stone cutting to create one of pieces. Looking forward to whats around the corner.
