"Aspirations"
I live in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia. I have been wood working for over 25 years, and enjoy both turning and traditional woodworking like building furniture and cabinetry. It has been my main hobby for all that time, although I do enjoy the out door sports as well. I have built tables, bookcases, kitchen and bath cabinetry, blanket chests, gun cabinets and numerous other furniture projects. My first lathe purchase was for the purpose of turning table legs, and that has evolved into bowls, hollow forms, lidded forms and the occasional spindle turning.
I am a Juried Virginia Artisan through the Artisans Center of Virginia; the official Commonwealth of Virginia Artisans organization, that promotes economic development and tourism initiatives and coordinates the Artisan trails in the counties of Virginia that have one. They also support arts education and have many galleries and other venues they are associated with around Virginia. I am also a member of the American Association of Woodturners and 2 affiliate chapters here in Virginia.
I have been married to a wonderful lady named Sandra for over 40 years and we have two sons, and two Yorkies!
