I am a woodturner born and bred on a sheep and beef farm in Taumarunui, NZ. I spend many hours turning in my shed and if my wife Helen can't find me there, it's almost guaranteed I will be next door in the neighbour's shed planning out some new design or tool for the job. My inspiration for turning comes from aspects of life around me. In particular I enjoy a challenge, and often my pieces start out as a thought "Can I do it?", quickly followed by a thought "why not". As my neighbour Gary often tells me "Go big". I also really enjoy looking at other woodworker's work to see how I can incorporate new skills, and as a source of fresh ideas. www.walkerswoodturning.co.nz
