I have made a living as a finish carpenter/cabinetmaker. Until the last eight years the only turning was related to my cabinet work. A green woodturning class at the local toystore - read Woodcraft - hooked me. Having been self taught with the help of books and videos in spindle, bowl, segmented turning of practical items, I attended a hands on session with Art Liestman and was inspired to try my hand at more artistic interpretations. Now retired, the new shop is up and running. I enjoy traveling to area clubs and doing demo's. Also have done a little teaching. I have gotten very involved in Turners Anonymous in Pittsburgh - recently elected president for 2016 - have found that to be a HUGE job, but rewarding as we have many willing to work for the club.
