Birch Spiral
My wife Peggy and I live in North Pole, Alaska with six little dogs and three cats. We work as a team, I being the woodturner and she the piercer. We make mainly thin walled pierced pieces that are in homes ,palaces, and collections all over the world. The woodturning gods have been good to us and we have trouble keeping up.
I am 66 years old, was born in Seattle and moved to Alaska in 1960. I married my wife Peggy in 1982. We have 2 children and 3 grandchildren all living in Alaska.
We have demonstrated in Dublin Ireland, Anchorage and Fairbanks Alaska, North Dakota, for the AAW Symposium, and for the Utah Woodturning Symposium. We are represented by 15 Galleries of Martin & MacArthur in Hawaii and Las Vegas, Auroria Fine Arts in Anchorage, two galleries in Fairbanks, and a few in Idaho.
In the summer time we run a fishing charter in Valdez, Alaska for halibut and we both taught Junior Senior High school for over 20 years before starting woodturning. I taught music and Peggy taught reading and English.
I love to hunt moose or anything else I can eat but mainly enjoy time around the campfire relaxing. Peggy is a avid quilter and loves to embroider.
Anything else you would like to know about us just give me a call and we will have a nice chat.
