Louis has been turning since 2007 where he took his first woodturning course with his son. He continued woodturning but his son went on to do other things. He is fascinated by glass Art Nouveau and Art Deco pieces and the works of masters have inspired this turned and decorated pieces. To improve his drawing and painting skills he went back to school and is now completing completing a Fine Arts program at the Ottawa school of Art. Is is incorporating his new learnings in his turned pieces and hopefully this will improve his work. Louis is also a board member of the AAW and Chair of Turners Without Borders. He is married to Louise and had four children, Claudia, Xavier, Anaïw and Arnaud. He divides his time between Ottawa and his cottage in Sainte-Adèle where he has his woodturning workshop.
