Wow SWAT 2014

ARTIST: Scott Hackler, El Dorado KS USA. I started turning in 2009 after a 35 year break from messing with my Dad's old Delta lathe as a child. Back then clubs and bowls with screw holes (and lots of cracks) were the only thing we knew how to make, well except for a part for a table or chair. In 2009 I bought a new lathe for my son and I to have a common hobby, but he didn't really have an interest in it. I took to it immediately and through a lot of trial and error and interaction through online communities, I have continued to progress. My style and taste leans towards the artistic side, but I still enjoy the occational bowl. I am enjoy demonstrating, including this year at the 2014 SWAT Symposium in Waco, TX. I am currently the Vice President of our local turning club in Wichita KS and will become the President in 2015. The best thing about woodturning is the friendships I have created, all over the world.
