Silver maple platter

I've long been fascinated by turning, but really just got started a short time ago. Born and raised in rural North Dakota, I have a love for the trees that have surrounded and sheltered me from winter winds and summer sun, given me apples, plums and chokecherry jelly to enjoy, branches to climb, and now, wood to turn. I love the discoveries I make when I peel away the surface layers and uncover the beautiful figuring, bark inclusions, knots, spalting, and everything else hidden inside.
