I've been a woodturner for many years and live and work in Yorkshire in the UK. I'm a member of the Register of Professional Turners of the Worshipful Company of Turners of London. Until I retired I was in demand as a demonstrator and teacher, but have had to give these activities up owing to problems with wood dust. I still work on commissions and my own artistic pieces. I still write occasional articles on woodturning for ‘The Woodworker' magazine and 'Woodturning' magazine. When I meet other woodturners for the first time they sometimes ask me what I make. No matter how many times it happens, it always confounds me. I want to say that I'll make 'anything you want, as long as its round', after the style of Henry Ford's 'any colour you like, so long as its black', but the question always makes me feel slightly inadequate because I haven't got that 'single item' speciality that seems to be expected of me. I'm happy to try anything new and see where it leads me. Update September 2018: I've now retired from my woodturning business but hope to continue woodturning as a hobby for the future,
