Amflora

Born in NYC in 1947. At the age of two, I realized that NY was not my cup of tea and headed out for California with family in tow. Later realized that I had an affinity for making things, especially out of wood. My old man had a shop so I started messing around in there, getting in the way and being sent for things like toe nails and pizzas. Eventually, I tired of that and set up my own shop where the old man couldn't hassle me and I've been eating sawdust ever since. Also did some writing, started a family, broke a few bones (mostly by accident but at least one because I'm Italian), built houses and ruined my back. Took up lathe work in 2006 as it seemed like it would be easier on my back. That was before I learned about hollowing, chainsawing blanks out of weighs a ton wet wood, harvesting local wood and that sort of stuff. No plans to "retire". I'll work till I drop. Never could sit still anyway.
