My name is Gary Lowe and I live in the Scottish Highlands. I got into turning late in life around 2002, towards the end of my Military Career. I had never been interested in the craft before until I picked up an old copy of "Woodturning" magazine whilst on a coffee break at work, and the journey has not really stopped since (apart from a couple of years off). I love all aspects of turning, dabbling in most: hollow forms, off-centre, natural edge etc. I particularly like adding colour and texture to my work. I am a member of the AWGB, chairman of the local turning club and have recently been accepted as a member of "The Register of Professional Turners" which is a great honour. I demonstrate throughout Britain and also give lessons. Supplying a couple of local galleries and undertaking private commissions keeps me busy.
