I began woodturning in 2009, and was immediately consumed with the endless possibilities to make use of the natural beauty of wood and stone. While I am most drawn to pure, simple forms I always feel compelled to incorporate my skills in other art forms into my work. I occasionally demonstrate on thin walled and endgrain turning methods. These methods allow me to incorporate piercing, carving and making use of the translucent qualities of some wood species. I also provide educational lectures/critiques on "Aesthetics, Principles of Design and Form" helping people take their turning efforts to the next level. HONORS In 2011, I was invited to perform a live demonstration of woodturning at the prestigious "SOFA Chicago" (Scuptural Objects and Functional Art) at the booth sponsored by the Collectors of Wood Art and the American Association of Woodturners. I was invited again to demonstrate in SOFA Chicago 2013,and 2015. In 2014, my experimental piece entitled "Forging" was accepted into the AAW's juried exhibit "Merging" at the annual symposium. I was a demonstrator at the AAW's 31st Annual Symposium in Kansas City.
