I started woodturning November 2013 on a two day course with a RPT registered woodturner Tom Pockley. Tom and I have become good friends now I think that I've spent 10 full days in his workshop. I served an apprenticeship as a furniture maker when I left school, but once qualified I left and followed a career in sales. I fell in love with woodturning within minutes last November and spend around 30 to 40 hours a week learning and improving my skills. I like to turn larger items, platters, bowls and hollow forms and where possible I like the timber to do the talking rather than cover it something that hides it. 29/1/2015 an update I've started colouring and texturing some work and found that I also like this I've now also taken a two day course with Stuart Mortimer to further my woodturning. You can never stop learning something that you love. Since last updating my Bio a lot has happen I spent more time with top turner/artists from the UK Nick Agar and Mark Sanger. On the 21st of September 2017 I was accepted on to the Register of Professional Turners (RPT) here in the UK. All the best Ed
