Maple Burl Box.

My name is Glenn Lefley. I live in beautiful Windermere, B.C. Canada. Surrounded by the Rocky Mountains. I have been a carpenter/painter for 39'years and now I've jumped into woodturning. Have been doing boxes mainly lately but dabble in virtually everything from platters, Burl bowls and utilitarian pieces. I'm the type of guy that will try to go in every direction at once and try to learn it all, all at once. If that makes sense. Mainly have been using local wood, maple Burl, cotton wood, yellow cedar Burl, but have been building my supply of exotic woods for the 1,000 different projects on the go in my head. Have a complete shop set-up and hoping to be good enough in a few years to open my own studio. We don't have a aaw chapter or any woodturning clubs within a 2 1/2 hour drive, so these forums are invaluable to me as a learn aid. I hope in the future that I can start a chapter here. I would like to thank in advance for all the ideas and help that I can foresee myself learning here. I might ask a lot of seemingly dumb questions but in my head it all makes sense. Haha. Glenn.
