Subject inspired by Chinese pottery vases. The masters throw these on a potters wheel and carve out the diamond pattern. This is much more difficult with wood, due to grain direction and fragility. This piece is a scant 1/8” thick, and all the diamonds are hand carved. The piece is colored black to emphasize the form and the negative spaces. 11" tall and made of Manitoba Maple
