Hello, My Name is Dan Zobel, I am a woodturner from Bucks County in Pennsylvania. I studied under Mark Sfirri and Alphonse Mattia at Bucks Community College and IUP respectively. Both of these individuals are huge influences in my work. Over the past 10 years my turnings have evolved from functional furniture elements to more sculptural and stand alone pieces. I enjoy including a bit on whimsy in my pieces as well as texture and color. Though I love natural wood, sometimes it needs a little push to stand out amongst the crowd. Collaborating and critiquing with other artists is also a huge part of my work and exploratory processes.
