the dark side of the moon

Giuseppe Tuninetti was born in Polonghera on February 8, 1947 where he lives and works as a wood sculptor. He graduated from the Salesian technical schools of Valdocco in Turin, where under the guidance of prof. Mario Notario approached the art of drawing and sculpture in clay and wood. After completing his studies, he completed his studies in the workshop of Pignatta Carlo di Savigliano and then, when he was not yet twenty, he started his own business. For forty years he has collaborated with the "Liturgical Group Laboratory" of San Damiano d'Asti, a leading company in the vestments and sacred furnishings sector, for which he has created exclusive designs, models, sculptures sold in Italy and abroad. In many years of activity he has not only dedicated himself to sculpture, but has designed and built unique furniture in different styles, learned the technique of lacquering, gilding with pure gold, wick painting and restoration of period furniture. Despite the great satisfaction he had from his long artistic career, the curiosity and the desire to confront himself in new techniques is still very strong, so he began to paint inspired by the style of the French Impressionists. In 2014 he discovers and becomes passionate about artistic turning to which he devotes all his free time.
