I left school at 15 to pursue a career in joinery. I soon transitioned to furniture making. I was extremely lucky that I was took under the wing of John Stevenson, the very best woodworker I have ever met, although he was very harsh lol. I still look back with appreciation that I had that opportunity to learn so much from him over a period of a few years. I recently got into woodturning through youtube recommending a livestream of Martin Saban Smith. I bought a lathe a few weeks later and a few books on how to turn. I'm in awe of the beautiful pieces I see in the fine art realm of wood turning and this is the direction I would like to persue.
