I was raised in a woodworking family with a father and great uncle both carpenter /builders. On graduating from high school in 1962 I had to decide on a career teaching Manual Arts or taking on a traineeship with a concrete reinforcing company, I took the latter and enjoyed in the main a 39 year career with that company in seven locations over a 2000km stretch of Australia's east coast retiring in 2002 in Brisbane after building our retirement home with a purpose built workshop to extend and enjoy my woodcraft hobby covering furniture, boxes, woodturning and embellishments. I am an active member of Redcliffe and Dist. Woodcraft Society and a regular attendee at Dave Drescher's Turnfest.
