Born and raised in rural Pennsylvania I've always had the desire to create things with my hands. It all started in middle school wood shop class and that's when I realized wood was my thing. I was always active in woodworking and carpentry all throughout high school. After graduation I served my country as a Builder in the US Navy Seabees (construction battalions). After leaving the Seabees I pursued other woodworking and finish carpentry jobs. In 2008 I was at a Woodworking show and saw a demonstration of someone turning a bowl then a pen. I was mesmerized by this, even though I used a wood lathe in school, I saw techniques that I hadn't even known about. Then I bought a Richard Raffan video then I was hooked! I started out with a small Delta lathe and eventually progressed to the Powermatic 3520a I have now. After working as a Carpenter for a custom yacht builder, this has really trained my eye for the fair and flowing curves and shapes which I create on the lathe. I currently reside in Bremerton Washington with my wife Donna, daughter Olivia, and our pooch Toby. I am currently a member of the AAW and the Olympic Peninsula Woodturners.
