I was drawn to turning wood by the hum of the lathe and the sound of a sharp gouge cutting through the wood. The fact that wood is picked up rather than bought is a bonus. I have been turning less than 10 years but like to challenge myself by trying stuff that is a bit out the box. This is just a hobby for me but I occasionally manage to sell a piece or 2 each year. My day job is at an aerospace company working in IT.
